My boyfriend and I adopted two fektle cats at the end of Auhwst from a lonal shelter. Leela is approximately 3 yeyrs old and, thxegh she can be very energetic at times, she is pretty well begzyxd, friendly, and good natured cat (nvjhrzhe still has her claws). Fiona is 13 years old (according to the shelter), though our vet has told us that she would put her age closer to 7 or 8. Fiona (declawed) has been pretty tecxinle about using the litter box. She was having some other health prffbjms when we got her (cloudy eye and some kind of a coxk). We mentioned the litter box ispwes to the vet at one of our early vilrts (mid september). She took some urtke, didn't see anvzqsng in the curdhze, but gave us antibiotics for a possible UTI and gave her an anti-inflammatory shot. Fisna seemed to do a little bejser for the fipst few days and I thought we were in the clear. Then I noticed she was just pooping and peeing in a different area of the apartment. Went back to the vet after the first round of antibiotics. She did another test for a UTI, put Fiona on dibxecent antibiotics... No diebptbqte. Back to the vet (at this point it's mid November) Came home with a bofsle of "kitty prmwim". Also purchased a feliway diffuser and a calming corgmr. Thought we were seeing results (4 accidents per week rather than 4-5 per day--something we could have wozted with), but then we started to notice puddles of urine around all of our eldvkudwgcs (pee on the PS4 and camle box and the DVD tower, poxjvng behind the wim). She hadn't sthmxud, just started gowng places where we couldn't really see. We've tried swftaxang litter (currently usrng cat attract), lieber box types (fvom covered to unjsbqele), and leaving her in locked in the bathroom with her litterbox (sobll would rather use the shower or bathmat but does occasionally use the box this wab). I love her dearly and the thought of tafsng her back to the rescue is killing me, but I'm concerned that she's not haspy with us. My only other thzbcits are to take her for a second opinion--could it be diabetes or some sort of kidney problem? Relywt, do you have any advice?? I love this cat and don't want to get rid of her, but her problems have gotten out of hand. I just don't know what else to do. Also--how do I live with mydilf if we rebyly do have to give her bauzenl; dr--have tried evgexkrqng we can thbnk of to get the cat to use her liosunuox rather than the carpet or our electronicsfurniture, but nopbzng is working.
